KYIV, October 10
President Viktor Yushchenko stressed the importance of Ukraine's youth integration to the country's public and political processes, he was speaking at the 8th European Conference of Youth Ministers in Kyiv.

According to V. Yushchenko, the state supports the development of all youth movements in Ukraine. Today there are more than 150 youth associations, 16 unions of all-Ukrainian youth and children NGOs.

The Head of Sate emphasized that Ukraine has one of the highest indicators of youth representation in public authorities in Europe.

He also expressed satisfaction with the fact that our young people take more and more active part in international and European life. According to the President, a total of 12 all-Ukrainian youth organizations are members of all-European youth structures. In 2008 the Ukrainian Youth Forum became member of the European Youth Forum. Moreover, the National Scout Organization of Ukraine was declared a full-fledged member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.

When addressing the conference participants, Yushchenko said that since 2010 our higher education establishments will be integrated to a common European education system, while Ukrainian students will be full-fledged members of the European Union academic community. In the context Viktor Yushchenko expressed confidence that the Bologna Process is one of the most important processes which brings Ukraine closer to the EU membership.

President Yushchenko believes the European community has to promote youth communication. "We have to open opportunities for young people's communication in Europe. For that purpose, we are first of all to minimize a visa policy when the matter particularly concerns students, journalists and young scientists," he underscored.
